Manila Mayor Isko Moreno Domagoso welcomed the donation of 20 new motorcycle units from Chiang Kai Shek College, saying the vehicles will be deployed to strengthen police visibility, mobility, and response operations across the capital.
The turnover was held during the weekly flag-raising ceremony at Manila City Hall, where Manila Police District Director Arnold Santiago received the units on behalf of the city’s police force.
Domagoso thanked Chiang Kai Shek College for supporting the city government’s peace and order efforts, saying private sector assistance helps expand Manila’s capacity to protect residents and respond faster to public safety concerns.
“Ilalaan natin ’tong mga gamit na ito upang mas epektibong matugunan, and if there is a possibility and chances to prevent. And if we fail in preventing, we go after them no matter what,” Domagoso said.
The mayor said the 20 NMAX motorcycles will be used by the MPD to patrol communities, improve police response, and help authorities pursue suspects when crimes occur. He added that the latest donation brings the total number of motorcycles donated to the MPD to around 60 units.
Domagoso also warned those involved in criminal activity that the city government is prepared to pursue and hold them accountable.
“Sa mga tolóngges na patuloy na gumagawa ng kalokohan, tigilan niyo na ’yan. Alam naman ninyo na ang Pamahalaang Lungsod ay higit na handang habulin kayo at panagutin sa mata ng batas, anuman ang mangyari,” he said in a Facebook post.
The college delegation was led by Honorary Chairman Johnson Tan, Treasurer Eduard Tio, Auditor Margarita Go, College President Dr. Judelio Yap, Vice President Dr. Rolance Chua, and Director for Institutional Advancement and Development Margaret Salvador.
Domagoso assured the donors that the motorcycles will be used strictly for public safety operations under Santiago’s leadership, as Manila continues to tap public-private cooperation to improve peace and order in the city.
