Manila Mayor Isko Moreno Domagoso has welcomed a private sector proposal to improve internet access and digital learning facilities in selected public schools in the city.
The initiative was discussed during a courtesy visit by Radius Telecom President and CEO Exequiel Delgado, who met with Domagoso to explore possible partnerships for Manila’s education sector.
Under the proposal, Radius Telecom plans to provide internet connectivity to selected public schools in Manila. The company is also preparing an “Adopt-a-School” project that would set up study corners with internet access, computer equipment, and other digital learning resources.
The planned facilities are expected to help students access modern technology and online learning tools as schools continue to use digital platforms for instruction and academic activities.
Department of Assessment Director Atty. Cris Fernandez and City Treasurer Atty. Paul Vega were also present during the meeting.
Domagoso expressed support for the initiative and said the city government is open to partnerships that can help expand educational opportunities for young Manileños.
