Dr. KC Halili, a sexual health expert and former PGMN Anchor, was recognized as one of Tarlac State University’s Outstanding Alumni during the launch of SILAY: Glimpses of the Past, part of the university’s 120th Foundation Day celebration.
Halili returned to the Tarlac State University Laboratory School, where she attended high school, for the recognition that highlighted her work across medicine, healthcare, media, business and public affairs.
“This week, I returned to my high school, the Tarlac State University Laboratory School, and was humbled to be recognized as one of the university’s Outstanding Alumni during the launch of SILAY: Glimpses of the Past, held as part of TSU’s 120th Foundation Day celebration,” Halili said.
Halili is a physician whose practice covers sexual and reproductive medicine, menopause, sexual performance, rejuvenation and cosmetic gynecology. She also holds a postgraduate specialization certificate and a Master of Science degree from the University of South Wales.
Before entering medicine, Halili graduated cum laude and ranked Top 1 in BS Nursing at Centro Escolar University. She later studied medicine at the University of Santo Tomas and became a licensed physician.
Halili also served as a PGMN Anchor and has hosted episodes tackling major public health and political issues. Her PGMN episodes have covered the country’s HIV situation, rising mpox cases and multi-billion-peso solar ghost projects linked to Leandro Leviste.
Her professional background also includes senior roles in the healthcare industry. Halili previously served as medical director and chief communications officer of a publicly listed healthcare holdings company valued at around ₱6 billion. She also served as chairman of Beyond Testing Medical Health Services Inc. and held business development positions in the sector.
Halili’s public profile also includes pageantry. She was crowned Miss Manila 2014 and joined Binibining Pilipinas in the same year before building a career in medicine, healthcare leadership, media and business.
Despite the long list of credentials, Halili said the TSU recognition carried a more personal meaning because it brought her back to the people who knew her before those achievements.
“But beyond the certificate, what made the day special was being surrounded by people who knew me long before I became who I am today,” she said.
Halili also thanked her former professors, family friends and high school friends, while specifically recognizing Engr. Willie I. Alagano and Engr. Estrella Bernal Pagco. She also congratulated her former professor and current TSU President Jasper Mendoza.
“It struck me how beautiful it is to be remembered by people who knew you in different chapters of your life. They remind you that you’ve always been more than any single title, achievement, or version of yourself,” Halili said.
The Outstanding Alumni recognition adds another distinction to Halili’s career spanning medicine, healthcare leadership, media, business and public service-oriented discussions through PGMN.
“I am proud of the girl who dreamed. Proud of the woman who worked hard to make some of those dreams come true. And learning to be just as proud of the woman who is still a work in progress,” Halili said.
