Filipina singer-songwriter Mariah Deborah has made history after her viral hit “Na Para Bang” debuted at No. 106 on the Billboard Global Excluding U.S. chart dated Oct. 24, 2026, becoming the first song by a female Original Pilipino Music (OPM) artist to enter the ranking. Unlike the Billboard Global 200, which includes the United States, this chart ranks songs based on streaming and digital sales outside the American market.
According to Billboard Philippines, previous OPM entries include Cup of Joe‘s “Multo,” which debuted at No. 74 in 2025, juan karlos’ “ERE” at No. 138 in 2023, and Earl Agustin’s “Tibok” at No. 144 in 2025.
Released on Feb. 13, 2026, “Na Para Bang” explores the complicated feelings of falling in love with a close friend while fearing that confessing could change their friendship. Deborah drew inspiration from her own experience and a popular Filipino expression.
The song initially gained modest attention before going viral on TikTok, where its catchy bridge and relatable lyrics attracted listeners.
Its growing popularity brought it to No. 1 on the Billboard Philippines Hot 100 on Oct. 10. By Oct. 24,
it was leading both the Hot 100 and Top Philippine Songs charts.
Beyond the Philippines, “Na Para Bang” peaked at No. 65 on Spotify‘s Global chart and reached No. 2 in the United Arab Emirates and No. 102 in Singapore. It also climbed to No. 5 on Apple Music Philippines.
Deborah began releasing original music in 2020 with “Dangerous Dance” and released her debut album, i wanna eat your intestines, in 2023. An independent artist, she taught herself music production during the pandemic and continued promoting her work despite its initially limited reach.
According to Billboard PH, Deborah also surpassed Janine Berdin to become the female OPM artist with the most monthly listeners on Spotify.
Her achievement marks a breakthrough for her career and highlights the growing international reach of Filipino-language music.
