PGMN Anchor and Former Presidential Anti‑Corruption Commission Chairman Greco Belgica said that no matter how hard he tries, former House Speaker Martin Romualdez will not escape God’s judgment, as he called on President Bongbong Marcos to ensure his disgraced cousin faces full accountability and that all involved in corruption are pursued.
Belgica stressed that no matter how Romualdez runs, he will not escape God’s judgment. He warned that while former senator Bong Revilla was granted bail on a non‑bailable offense, Romualdez will apply for the same thing with the same court.
“Earthly shields are temporary,” Belgica said. “One day accountability will come, for no one escapes God’s judgement. Mr. President, never forget, God remains King of kings, the ultimate ruler and supreme judge of all nations forever and ever.”
Belgica urged Marcos to ensure his cousin faces justice, saying it is what the entire Philippines wants.
“Mr. President, do what is right. Pakulong mo ang lahat ng nagnakaw. Bawiin mo ang lahat ng ninakaw. Baguhin mo ang sistema para hindi na manakawan ang bansa,” Belgica said.
The warning comes as Romualdez has repeatedly tried to derail the flood‑control probe, attempting to downplay the Ombudsman’s investigation and even seeking to impeach Ombudsman Boying Remulla.
When his arrest warrant was served on Sept. 7, Romualdez played the sick card, with his camp pushing for hospital detention. Cardinal Santos admitting physician Dr. Kurt Allen Sibayan testified that Romualdez bypassed the usual admitting process and went straight to a private hospital room instead of the emergency ward.
On Sept. 10, the Sandiganbayan Third Division formally ordered the BJMP to commit Romualdez as a detention prisoner at the Quezon City Jail Male Dormitory in Payatas once hospital confinement ends. The commitment order in his ₱7.4‑billion plunder case directs the jail warden to hold Romualdez pending trial and bars his removal, transfer, or release unless ordered by the court. His arraignment and pre‑trial are scheduled for Sept. 14 at 8:30 a.m.
