Angat Buhay, founded by former Vice President and now Naga City Mayor Leni Robredo, received a ₱70,000 donation from the creators of Karinderya, a Filipino restaurant simulation game on Roblox, whose community turned in‑game spending into real‑world aid.
The contribution came from earnings generated by Karinderya’s Baloyet Pack, which the developers said brought in about 316,000 Robux. The team later announced through its official Discord server that ₱70,000 from the proceeds would be donated to Angat Buhay.
“Gusto lang namin magpasalamat nang buong puso sa inyong lahat na patuloy na naglalaro at sumusuporta sa Karinderya,” the developers wrote.
“Dahil sa inyo, nagawa nating mag-abot ng tulong sa iba.”
Karinderya was created by SILOG as a Filipino-themed Roblox experience where players manage their own virtual restaurant and work toward becoming a five-star owner. By late September, the game had already surpassed 59 million visits, giving the developers a large and active player base behind the fundraising effort.
The donation also showed how Karinderya’s success extended beyond the game itself. Money generated from a digital item purchased by players was converted into a cash contribution for Angat Buhay, allowing the game’s community to take part in a real-world charitable effort.
The developers credited players for making the donation possible and framed the contribution as a shared achievement between the team and its community.
“Maraming salamat sa inyo. Hindi lang kayo players, parte kayo ng journey na ’to,” the team said.
The ₱70,000 donation gives Angat Buhay direct support generated from Karinderya’s in-game sales, turning part of the Filipino Roblox game’s earnings into funding for the organization’s programs.
