Senator Robin Padilla’s Deputy Chief of Staff, retired Col. Jean Alia Robles, has filed a criminal complaint for cyber libel against Atty. Jesus Falcis, adding to the lawyer and online commentator’s growing list of legal battles over his social media posts.
The complaint was filed after posts involving Padilla’s Senate staff appeared online in connection with the controversy surrounding Senator Ronald “Bato” dela Rosa and events at the Senate.
The new complaint comes days after Navotas Rep. Toby Tiangco 38 counts of cyber libel against Falcis over several Facebook posts that Tiangco claimed were defamatory. Tiangco’s complaint covered posts from May 2025 to April 2026 and accused Falcis of engaging in a sustained online campaign against him.
With the latest complaint, Falcis now faces another libel-related action after Tiangco’s complaint, putting renewed scrutiny on the accuracy and credibility of his online claims. As more public officials and Senate-linked personnel push back through legal action, the controversy is now shifting from the posts themselves to whether Falcis’ allegations can withstand formal challenge.
Padilla’s Chief of Staff says he will file more libel lawsuits, this time civil charges, against Falcis next week.
