Interior Secretary Jonvic Remulla on Wednesday said authorities have not received any official communication from the International Criminal Court (ICC) or Interpol regarding an alleged arrest warrant against Sen. Bong Go.
Remulla’s statement came after Davao City 1st District Rep. Congressman Paolo “Pulong” Duterte claimed in a Facebook post that a “highly reliable source” had informed him that ICC arrest warrants had already been issued against Go and two former police officers.
The Interior chief said government agencies would only act on formal and verified communications transmitted through proper legal channels. He stressed that, as of Wednesday, no such notice had reached Philippine authorities.
The Philippine National Police likewise said it had not received any order, notice, or request concerning an alleged ICC warrant against Go.
The issue gained attention following recent remarks by former senator Antonio Trillanes IV, who claimed that arrest warrants involving Go and several former police officials could be forthcoming as part of the ICC’s investigation into the Duterte administration’s anti-drug campaign.
Despite the claims, government officials maintained that there is no official confirmation of any warrant against Go. Authorities reiterated that any action would depend on the receipt of formal documents through established legal procedures.
As of Wednesday, neither the ICC nor Interpol had publicly announced an arrest warrant against the senator. Remulla said authorities remain guided by official communications and due process in addressing matters related to international legal requests.
