Joe Rogan has signed a new multiyear licensing deal with Spotify, extending one of the biggest partnerships in the podcasting industry and keeping “The Joe Rogan Experience,” the world’s biggest podcast platform, connected to the service for years to come.
The The Wall Street Journal reported that Rogan could receive an “estimated earnout” of $250 million. Under the agreement, Spotify will continue managing advertising sales and licensing for Rogan’s podcast, which is now available across multiple platforms instead of being exclusive to Spotify.
“The partnership with Spotify has been an amazing fit, and they’re incredible to work with,” Rogan said.
“I’m extremely happy and excited to continue with them for years to come.”
Rogan and Spotify first partnered in 2020, when “The Joe Rogan Experience” moved to the platform and later became exclusive to Spotify. That exclusivity ended under a new agreement in 2024, allowing full episodes to return to other services while Spotify retained its commercial relationship with the show.
The strategy has helped Rogan maintain an enormous audience across platforms. “The Joe Rogan Experience” ranked as the most-listened-to podcast on Spotify, YouTube and Apple Podcasts in 2025. It has about 18 million followers on Spotify and has remained the platform’s most-followed podcast since their partnership began.
Spotify content partnerships head Jordan Newman said Rogan had built “something incredibly enduring” and credited the show’s continued global reach as a major part of Spotify’s podcast growth.
Launched in 2009, “The Joe Rogan Experience” has produced more than 2,500 episodes, typically running two to three hours and featuring guests from entertainment, sports, science, politics, business and culture.
The renewal locks in Rogan’s place at the center of Spotify’s podcast strategy while preserving the wider distribution model that has expanded the show’s reach beyond a single platform.
