PGMN Anchor and former Cavite 4th District Representative Kiko Barzaga is set to face Tain Landrito in a three-round amateur lightweight boxing match on Sunday, Oct. 18, at Hotel Casiana in Tagaytay City.
The bout is part of Tagaytay Fight Night, a two-day boxing event scheduled for Oct. 17 and 18. Their matchup is listed on the fight card as a “special attraction,” with the former lawmaker taking part in an exhibition bout.
Barzaga has experience in combat sports, including boxing, taekwondo and arnis. In a September 2025 interview, he said he had previously competed in two boxing matches and won one of them. He also claimed to have a black belt in taekwondo and to have won consecutive gold medals in the Cavite Pro-Active arnis competition.
Barzaga previously fought Prince Chicano in an amateur boxing match on March 8, 2026, but lost the bout.
Landrito, meanwhile, has publicly acknowledged their upcoming matchup, expressing respect for Barzaga while stressing that their political and social backgrounds would not matter once they enter the ring.
“Respect to the man I’m sharing the ring with. But when that bell rings, it’s nothing personal, just business. No politics, no status, no shortcuts. Just me, my gloves, and 3 rounds to show what I’m made of,” Landrito wrote on Facebook.
Barzaga previously represented Cavite’s 4th District before being expelled from the House of Representatives on June 2, 2026. Lawmakers voted 265–14, with eight abstentions, to adopt an ethics committee recommendation citing disorderly behavior and conduct unbecoming of a member of Congress.
The Oct. 18 bout will be another scheduled boxing appearance for Barzaga following his departure from Congress. Batang TOL Promotions is promoting the event, with the Barzaga-Landrito exhibition among its featured matchups.
