Naga City Mayor Leni Robredo and Rep. Chel Diokno emerged as the only figures associated with the pink-yellow political bloc to enter the Magic 12 of Tangere’s most recent 2028 senatorial preference survey.
Robredo ranked eighth with 30.8% voter preference, tying Manila Mayor Isko Moreno Domagoso, while Diokno placed 12th with 25.1%, securing the final position inside the survey’s projected winning circle.
Robredo’s placement keeps her firmly inside the survey’s upper tier despite her current focus on local government as mayor of Naga City. Tangere noted that her recent emphasis on municipal governance has reduced her presence in the daily national political news cycle compared with personalities who remain constantly visible in nationwide policy debates and broadcast media.
Tangere also described Robredo as having a dedicated core voter base that continues to provide her with a strong national foundation. The polling firm, however, pointed to the long-standing political divisions surrounding previous national elections as a potential limit on how easily figures strongly identified with established political movements can expand beyond their existing supporters.
Diokno, meanwhile, recorded one of the most significant upward movements in the latest survey. His voter preference increased by five percentage points, enough to move him into the top 12 and place him ahead of several established political names, including Sonny Angara and Loren Legarda.
The rest of the Magic 12 was dominated by personalities outside the traditional pink-yellow opposition grouping. Vico Sotto topped the poll with 42.1%, followed by Sebastian “Baste” Duterte at 37.0%, Raffy Tulfo at 36.5%, Robin Padilla at 36.0%, Grace Poe at 35.8%, Alan Peter Cayetano at 32.3%, Paolo “Pulong” Duterte at 31.6%, Isko Moreno at 30.8%, Ben Tulfo at 28.7%, and Manny Pacquiao at 28.0%.
The non-commissioned survey was conducted from August 12 to 15, 2026 among 2,400 respondents nationwide through Tangere’s mobile-based respondent application. It carried a ±1.96% margin of error at a 95% confidence level, with respondents distributed across NCR, Northern Luzon, Southern Luzon, Visayas and Mindanao.
