An informal Facebook reaction poll on the possible 2028 Cebu gubernatorial race has stirred online discussion after Cebu Flash Report asked users to choose between Cebu Governor Pam Baricuatro and Atty. Regal Oliva.
In the post, Cebu Flash Report asked, “For Cebu Governor 2028, kinsa’y inyo?” and assigned a heart reaction for Baricuatro and a wow reaction for Oliva. Based on the visible count, the post had drawn around 1,800 overall reactions, 407 comments, and 20 shares as of the screenshot.
For the two assigned choices, Oliva accounted for about 89 percent of the visible vote, while Baricuatro made up about 11 percent. The wide gap drew attention because the post directly placed the incumbent governor beside Oliva in an early public comparison for Cebu’s next gubernatorial race.
The result, however, should not be treated as an official survey or a scientific measure of voter preference. Facebook reaction polls only reflect the activity of users who saw or engaged with the post, not the sentiment of the entire Cebu electorate.
Still, the engagement shows that the 2028 Cebu governor race is already becoming a subject of public interest. With Oliva taking nearly nine out of every 10 assigned responses in the visible count, the post has added fuel to early political discussions over who may shape Cebu’s next provincial leadership battle.
