So, PAL showed up in The Telegraph’s airline rankings, and out of 90 airlines, they claimed a respectable 62nd spot.
Not exactly brushing shoulders with high-flyers like Emirates and Singapore Airlines, but hey, they’re also not chilling at rock bottom. Not bad, PAL. Not bad.
PAL’s Climb to the…Middle-ish?
Let’s give credit where it’s due—PAL was ranked on four big categories: service, punctuality, connectivity, and luggage policy.
They held their own, even though “connectivity” (aka “how many countries do you fly to?”) was a tough one.
With a modest score of 23 there, it’s clear PAL’s still stamping passports. But that’s part of the plan!
They’re pouring in $450 million to spruce up services and reach more destinations. Middle-of-the-pack for now, but with some ambition to spare.
Right on Time… for Most Flights, Anyway
Here’s a bright spot: PAL may be working its way up the ranks, but when it comes to getting you there on time, they’re all in.
PAL snagged the title of the fourth most punctual airline in Asia-Pacific with an impressive 86.85% on-time record this January. That’s something to cheer for, especially in a world of delays and cancellations!
They’re even outdoing some big-name budget airlines like AirAsia and Scoot in this department. So if you’re looking for a reliable ride, PAL’s got your back.
A Little Higher Next Time?
With $122 million in net income this year, PAL is making the most of their momentum. They’re adding sleek new A321neos and A350s to the fleet to bring passengers a smoother, more comfortable flying experience.
They’re adding shiny new planes to the fleet and are eyeing the launch of direct flights to Seattle soon, with plans to reach European destinations next—hello, Brussels and Paris!
Sure, they’re taking baby steps towards global ambitions, but each move shows they’re aiming higher. It might be a journey to reach the top of the list, but PAL’s giving it their all, one mile at a time.
Here’s to PAL—flying steady, not flashy, and bringing their A-game. Keep climbing, PAL!
Maybe next year we’ll crack the top 60?
