Vice President Sara Duterte and Sen. Bong Go remain the leading choices for president and vice president in the latest Pulse Asia survey, with Duterte again topping the presidential field despite mounting impeachment pressure.
Pulse Asia’s Sept. 17 to 24 nationwide survey found that 50% of respondents would vote for Duterte for president if the 2028 elections were held during the survey period. Naga City Mayor and former vice president Leni Robredo followed with 26%, while Sen. Raffy Tulfo received 12%.
The latest results continue a pattern seen in earlier preference surveys, with Duterte repeatedly emerging at or near the top of the presidential field. Her 50% rating was also slightly higher than the 49% she received in Pulse Asia’s previous survey conducted from June 28 to July 6.
The polling came while Duterte continued to face impeachment proceedings and other political attacks. The numbers do not determine whether accusations against any candidate are true or false, but they do show that the controversies have not erased Duterte’s support among a large share of surveyed Filipinos.
For vice president, Go remained the leading choice with 31%, followed by Sen. Robin Padilla at 19%, Sen. Bam Aquino at 17%, former senator Grace Poe at 14% and Sen. Erwin Tulfo at 10%. Go also improved from 27% in the previous Pulse Asia survey.
Support for Duterte was strongest in Mindanao, where she registered 92%, while she received 56% in the Visayas and 40% in Metro Manila. In the rest of Luzon, Robredo led with 36% against Duterte’s 28%.
The survey covered 2,400 respondents and carried a margin of error of plus or minus two percentage points. Duterte is the only person among the presidential names tested who has publicly declared an intention to seek higher office in 2028.
