Anti-ICE protests erupted in Los Angeles, California, on June 6, 2025, escalating into violent riots that prompted federal intervention by President Donald Trump’s administration.

The unrest, centered in the Westlake, Compton, and Paramount neighborhoods, involved hundreds of demonstrators clashing with ICE agents, local police, and federal troops.

This timeline exposes the lawlessness gripping L.A., fueled by Democrat policies, and why Trump’s deployment of the National Guard and Marines is the only way to restore order in a city spiraling into chaos.

June 6, 2025: ICE Raids Spark Protests

ICE agents conducted sweeping raids across Los Angeles, detaining 118 illegal immigrants in garment factories, warehouses, and street vendor operations.

Under Trump’s border czar, Tom Homan, the raids targeted public safety threats as part of a broader plan to deport 3,000 migrants daily. Protesters gathered in Westlake, blocking ICE vans and chanting anti-deportation slogans.

By evening, the demonstrations turned violent, with rioters throwing bottles and concrete at agents. Mayor Karen Bass condemned the raids as “cruel,” emboldening the mob and setting the stage for further unrest.

June 7, 2025: Violence Spreads to Compton and Paramount

The protests spread to Compton and Paramount, where crowds, some waving Mexican flags, escalated into riots. In Paramount, 400 rioters set cars on fire, including a pickup truck near a Home Depot, and attacked ICE officers with fireworks and debris.

A masked rioter on a motorcycle circling a burning vehicle became a viral symbol of the anarchy. Trump labeled the unrest a “riot” on Truth Social, promising swift action.

Los Angeles County Sheriff Robert Luna deployed deputies, but the mob’s aggression overwhelmed local forces, proving Democrat leaders’ failure to maintain control.

June 8, 2025: National Guard Deployed

As L.A. descended into chaos, Trump federalized 2,000 California National Guard troops under Title 10, overriding Governor Gavin Newsom’s objections. By Sunday, 300 guardsmen secured federal facilities, including the Metropolitan Detention Center holding detainees.

Protesters blocked the 101 Freeway, torched Waymo driverless cars, and defaced downtown buildings with “F*** ICE” graffiti. LAPD declared an unlawful assembly, using tear gas and rubber bullets as rioters retaliated with fireworks.

Newsom and Bass decried Trump’s “militarization,” but their sanctuary city policies left law enforcement powerless.

June 9, 2025: Marines Reinforce the Line

With violence intensifying, Trump deployed 700 Marines from Twentynine Palms to support the Guard. Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth confirmed additional forces at Camp Pendleton were on standby.

Near the Edward R. Roybal Federal Building, clashes led to 29 arrests and reports of looting downtown. Vice President JD Vance condemned the “insurrectionists carrying foreign flags,” while Stephen Miller called it a “violent uprising.”

Footage of rioters hurling cement chunks at police shattered the left’s “peaceful protest” narrative, validating Trump’s aggressive response.

June 10, 2025: Federal Forces Restore Order

By Tuesday, nearly 5,000 federal and Guard troops flooded L.A., clearing protesters from federal buildings. LAPD reported 56 arrests, with San Francisco adding 60 from solidarity protests turned violent.

Newsom filed a lawsuit, claiming Trump’s deployment violates the 10th Amendment, but his sanctuary policies have crippled local law enforcement. Trump banned masks at protests and warned of “troops everywhere” if the riots spread.

The FBI launched an investigation into a “criminal conspiracy” behind the unrest, suggesting organized agitators are at play.

The Bigger Picture: Democrat Failure Fuels Chaos

The L.A. riots are a direct result of Democrat leaders coddling illegal immigration while demonizing ICE. Waving foreign flags and torching property, these rioters aren’t defending “rights”—they’re defying America’s laws.

Trump’s crackdown, targeting 2,000 daily arrests nationwide, prioritizes citizens’ safety over political posturing.

California’s 1.8 million undocumented immigrants, including 238 Venezuelan gang members recently detained, strain communities. Newsom and Bass’s refusal to act forced Trump to deploy troops, exposing the left’s complicity in this anarchy.

Trump’s Crackdown: The Only Solution

The left calls Trump’s response “overreach,” but the burning cars and attacks on ICE agents prove otherwise. Sanctuary cities like L.A. have become breeding grounds for lawlessness, shielding criminals while radicals run wild. Homan’s warning that “someone’s going to lose their life” underscores the stakes.

Trump’s deployment of the Guard and Marines isn’t escalation—it’s a necessity. The rioters’ actions—foreign flags, looted stores, and assaults on police—show a contempt for America that only a strong hand can stop. Trump’s zero-tolerance policy is the antidote to this madness.
