Senator Bong Go received the Outstanding Leadership in Government Service award at the fourth Gawad Dangal Filipino Awards held at the Admiral Hotel in Manila on October 23.
Go thanked the organizers for the recognition and reaffirmed his commitment to public service, particularly in helping poor Filipinos and those most in need, with or without an award.
The honor came six days after Go was named Most Outstanding Senator at the Gawad Gintong Sinag Awards on October 17 in Binondo, Manila. Leadership for Educational Advancement and Development Philippines–Global organized that ceremony, where representative Leah Villalon accepted the award on his behalf.
In August, Go was also recognized as one of the Ten Outstanding Legislator-Senators in the Philippines during the Gawad Balangay Awards in Quezon City. Actor Phillip Salvador represented him at that event.
Go’s legislative work includes principally authoring and sponsoring Republic Act 11463, or the Malasakit Centers Act. The law institutionalized one-stop centers where indigent and financially incapacitated patients can seek medical and financial assistance from government agencies.
He also authored and co-sponsored the law establishing the National Academy of Sports in Capas, Tarlac, which combines secondary education with sports training for qualified student-athletes.
