Qualified overseas Filipino workers and their dependents are receiving medical services without hospital charges under the OFW Hospital’s zero-billing program.
The government-run facility in San Fernando City provides covered services to eligible beneficiaries, including medical consultations, diagnostic procedures and medicines available through its pharmacy.
Among those who have benefited from the program is 71-year-old Edgardo Estrada Valencia, who worked in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, for 36 years. His family said they did not have to pay for the medical services he received at the hospital.
Migrant Workers Secretary Hans Leo J. Cacdac recently visited the facility and met Valencia along with other OFWs and family members receiving treatment.
Cacdac also checked on pregnant patients and newborn babies benefiting from maternity and other medical services provided by the hospital.
The Department of Migrant Workers said qualified beneficiaries may access covered healthcare services without being billed, helping reduce medical expenses for OFWs and their families.
The OFW Hospital was established to provide dedicated healthcare services to Filipino migrant workers and their qualified dependents.
