The Philippines earned major international recognition after Chicken Inasal was named the world’s No. 3 best chicken dish and Southeast Asia’s top-ranked chicken dish, while Chicken Adobo also secured a place among the world’s best, according to the April 2026 edition of TasteAtlas.
Chicken Inasal, the iconic grilled chicken dish from Bacolod City, received a 4.4-star rating from more than 20,000 legitimate user ratings, placing behind only Peru’s Pollo a la Brasa and South Korea’s Dak Galbi. The ranking also crowned Inasal as the highest-rated chicken dish in Southeast Asia.
Chicken Adobo brought another distinction for the Philippines after placing 40th on TasteAtlas’ list of the world’s 50 best chicken dishes with a 4.1-star rating. It also ranked sixth among Southeast Asia’s best chicken dishes, giving the Philippines two entries on both the global and regional rankings.
TasteAtlas highlighted several destinations where visitors can experience authentic Chicken Inasal, including Aida’s Manokan and Nena’s Beth at Manokan Country in Bacolod City, as well as Balay Dako in Tagaytay, recognizing them among the country’s notable establishments for the dish.
The Department of Tourism welcomed the recognition, saying it reflects the growing global appreciation for Filipino cuisine and showcases the rich culinary traditions of the Visayas while further strengthening the Philippines’ reputation as a food destination.
TasteAtlas’ April 2026 Best Chicken Dishes in the World ranking featured 50 dishes from around the globe and was compiled using more than 20,000 legitimate user ratings after filtering out bots, nationalist voting, and local patriotism to help ensure fair and reliable results.
