Zack Snyder is ready to trade capes and superheroes for mixed martial arts action in his latest project, Brawler.
The director known for his work on 300 and Justice League is teaming up with UFC to bring a gripping story of redemption, inner demons, and a fighter’s rise from the streets to the UFC championship to the big screen.
UFC Meets Snyder’s Action
Snyder’s Brawler will dive deep into the world of UFC, showing the high-stakes life of a young fighter looking for a shot at the title. But the road to victory isn’t just about physical battles—it’s a fight against his inner demons as well.
With Snyder’s trademark intense action and gripping storytelling, Brawler promises to deliver more than just punch-outs. Fans can expect some of the most bone-breaking fight scenes ever captured in a sports film.
A Powerful Collaboration
This collaboration between UFC and Zack Snyder is a huge step for the mixed martial arts giant, which has been expanding its brand beyond the Octagon.
UFC’s CEO Dana White has already set the stage for immersive experiences with events like the live sporting event at the Sphere in Las Vegas, featuring its 160,000-square-foot curved LED screen.
Now, with Brawler, UFC aims to bring that same larger-than-life energy to the silver screen.
Snyder, along with his producing partner and wife, Deborah Snyder, and Wesley Coller, will produce Brawler through their Stone Quarry banner.
The film is executive produced by Turki Alalshikh and UFC‘s Craig Borsari, with Snyder also co-writing the screenplay alongside his frequent collaborators Shay Hatten and Kurt Johnstad.
Fighter Stories Told on Screen
In a statement, Snyder shared his excitement about the project:
“Behind every great fighter is the story of how they got there. UFC is the world leader in combat sports, and I’m honored to be partnering with them to tell this incredible story.”
The partnership with UFC and Stone Quarry follows Snyder’s recent success with Rebel Moon and Army of the Dead and adds to his expanding work in film and television.
With Brawler promising high-intensity action and an emotional journey, it’s clear that Snyder’s move into UFC territory will bring something fresh to the world of combat sports films. Fans of UFC and Snyder alike won’t want to miss this one when it hits theaters.
